Smoky party jollof rice meets juicy, fire-grilled chicken, finished with caramelised plantain and a bright pepper reduction.

At Vannys Lekki, we build layers of flavour the classic way—tomato-pepper base slow-stewed with thyme, bay leaf, and firewood smokiness, then tossed through long-grain rice for those beloved “party” notes. Chicken is marinated overnight, flame-kissed for crisp skin and tender meat, and brushed with ata dindin. Served with plantain, light slaw, and house gravy. Comforting, celebratory, unapologetically Nigerian.

Native Ofada rice paired with hot, flavour-packed green ayamase stew, rich with iru and slow-braised beef cuts.

Our unpolished Ofada is hand-washed and steamed till nutty and aromatic, then wrapped to hold its rustic character. The stew stars green bell peppers and ata rodo simmered in carefully bleached palm oil with onions, iru (locust beans), and smoked fish undertones. We fold in assorted beef, shaki, and soft boiled eggs for body. Intense, earthy, and deeply satisfying—heat level adjustable to your liking.

A classic Yoruba trio—soft amala, silky gbegiri, and velvety ewedu—served with rich assorted meats and stew.

We whisk yam-flour amala to a smooth, stretchy swallow, ladle on buttery gbegiri (bean soup) and freshly blended ewedu scented with iru. A spoon of ata dindin ties everything together, while tender beef, goat, shaki, and ponmo add hearty depth. It’s the definition of comfort food in Lagos—balanced textures, bold flavours, and a warming finish that keeps you coming back.

Charcoal-grilled beef suya dusted in yaji spice, paired with sweet fried plantain, onions, and tomatoes.

Thin-sliced beef is marinated and grilled over live coals, then coated in our house yaji—roasted groundnut, chile, ginger, and secret aromatics—for an irresistible smoky heat. We serve it with ripe dodo, fresh kuli-kuli crumble, and crunchy onions for snap. Perfect bar bites for the lounge, great with a chilled mocktail, and available in beef, chicken, or fish on request.

A humble yet hearty Nigerian staple—soft-boiled yam paired with richly stewed beans, bringing comfort in every bite.

We slow-cook brown beans until tender, then stew them in palm oil with onions, pepper, and a hint of crayfish for depth. Thick slices of yam are boiled until creamy inside and slightly firm on the outside, perfect for soaking up the saucy beans. Add a side of fried plantains or a drizzle of red oil and you’ve got a plate that hits home. Earthy, filling, and full of soul, it’s the kind of everyday meal that reminds you of mum’s kitchen and lazy Saturday afternoons.
